"BE NOBLE"

Apostle Paul was teaching in the city of Thessalonica, and he had to leave so he went to Berea

Acts 17: 10-11

10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.

11 These were More noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Noble means in the Greek – well born, high in rank, generous

Why did Apostle Paul call the people of Berea More noble?

1)  The people of Berea received the word with all readiness of mind

Ready means:  prepared mentally or physically for some experience or action prepared for immediate use

The people of Berea was ready to receive a Word from the Lord.

We should be prepared to receive the Word immediately so that whatever comes our way we can use the Word immediately.

Romans 10:17

"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

Also, 2)  the people of Berea searched the scriptures daily whether those things were so

Joshua 1:8

"This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success."

I want to encourage you to receive the Word with readiness of mind.  In other word, accept the Word and believe the Word.

Also, study the Word so that you can be assured the Word that was spoken is the truth.

2 Timothy 2:15
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. "

When testing time comes, you will be able to stand on the Word that you heard.

Ephesians 6:13
"Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."

The Word cannot fail; therefore believe the Word.
