AS YOU GO (BE FILLED WITH JOY) PART 2
MAIN SCRIPTURES
Philippians 4:4, 6-8 KJV
4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Let us continue with verse 6
BUT in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
This verse is simply telling us to have a conversation with God. Father God wants us to ask him what we want.
John 16:24 (KJV)
Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
Example of prayer and supplication
Isaiah 38: 1-5 (NLV)
Hezekiah Will Live Fifteen More Years
38 In those days Hezekiah became sick and was near death. Isaiah the man of God, the son of Amoz, came to him and said, “The Lord says, ‘Make those of your house ready, for you will die and not live.’” 2 Then Hezekiah turned his face to the wall, and prayed to the Lord, 3 and said, “O Lord, I ask you from my heart to remember now how I have walked with You in truth and with a whole heart. I have done what is good in Your eyes.” And Hezekiah cried with a bitter cry. 4 Then the Word of the Lord came to Isaiah, saying, 5 “Go and tell Hezekiah, ‘The Lord, the God of your father David, says, “I have heard your prayer. I have seen your tears. See, I will add fifteen years to your life.
God added fifteen years to his life, GLORY TO GO
Here is the OUTCOME
Verse 7
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Wow, this is great, when we give it to God in prayer, then we will have the peace of God, Glory!!
THIS IS WHAT WE NEED TO MEDITATE ON
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
This verse is telling us that somethings we have to REJECT the things that come into our mind - REJECT thoughts that are not of God - thoughts that will not bring Glory to God
WE HAVE TO HIT THE REJECT BUTTON
I REFUSE TO THINK ON NEGATIVE THINGS – THINGS THAT DO NOT BRING HONOR TO GOD
It is so important to have the right kind of meditation
Proverbs 23:7(a) For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…
Matthew 15:16-18(Easy-to-Read Version (ERV
16 Jesus said, “Do you still have trouble understanding?
17 Surely you know that all the food that enters the mouth goes into the stomach. Then it goes out of the body.
18 But the bad things people say with their mouth come from the way they think. And that’s what can make people wrong
